Only then does color go down.

What finish options work in a kitchen?

Can you install over my existing kitchen floor?
We install over the concrete slab. Tile, laminate or vinyl is removed, adhesive residue is diamond-ground away, the slab is repaired and moisture-tested, and the system is built from the concrete up. On Southern California's slab-on-grade homes that means nearly every kitchen is a candidate.
Will wine, oil and coffee stain it?
No — the cured surface is non-porous, so liquids have nothing to soak into. Wine, olive oil, coffee, turmeric and everything else that ruins grout beads on the film until it is wiped away. There is no sealing schedule, either: the topcoat is the seal, permanently.
What about heat — dropped pans, appliances?
The system tolerates the realistic kitchen scenario — a hot pan briefly touching the floor, a dishwasher's warmth — without marking. Like any resilient floor it is not a trivet for cast iron straight off the burner, but everyday cooking heat is no threat to the film.
Is a kitchen epoxy floor slippery?
Dry, it grips like sealed stone. Because kitchens see splashes, most clients choose a satin topcoat, which adds a subtle texture, and where extra grip matters — around sinks and dishwashers, for households with elders or kids — we blend a fine slip-resistant additive into the clear coat that is nearly invisible but very effective wet.
How long is the kitchen out of service?
Typically two to three days depending on the finish: grinding and prep, then the color or metallic pour, then the topcoat, each with its cure window. Light foot traffic returns about a day after the final coat; appliances and furniture follow a day or so later. Metallic floors run to the longer end because the artistry takes time.
Do the materials smell? Is it safe to stay home?
Our materials are VOC-free — no solvent odor during installation and no off-gassing afterward — which is precisely why we can install in occupied homes. The kitchen is closed for the work itself, but the household does not need to relocate.
How do I clean it, long term?
A dust mop for crumbs and grit, and a damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner for everything else. No wax, no polish, no grout brushes, no steam mops needed. It is genuinely the lowest-maintenance kitchen floor we know of — the surface your sponge wipes is the same one installed on day one.
